This series started out as an assignment for the Roger Ballen Masterclass workshop I attended in Belfast, 2013. The brief was 'Close your eyes, turn your eyeballs around, photograph what you see'. I carried that thought for a few days before I started photographing. At that time, I had lived in south London for about 6 months and I was still thinking of the time I've spent in Haiti before arriving in London. Faith, community, spirituality; these things were circling my mind.
Most of these photographs were taken during the one week prior to the workshop, although, some were added in to the final edit retrospectively as I felt they carried the same mood I associate with that period of time.
