Victor Staaf's photographs oscillate between intimate and grandiose portraits of individuals negotiating their way
through their day to day. On daily walks he captures candid moments of social behaviour, both in domestic spaces and
large urban settings, seeking drama in everyday life. His artistic approach is characterized by a sense of movement and
timing and reflects on an eclectic taste for 19th century painting, 90's skateboard videos and South American literature.
As a keen analog photographer and darkroom printer, Victor’s work often takes shape as analog prints and self-
published books.
Alongside his artistic practice, Staaf works as a freelance photographer for various international clients and magazines,
selected clients include: Camper, Ernest W Baker, Sony Music, Porto Design Biennale, Stern, Metro, Principal Magazine
and Miami New Times.
